I have over 20 years teaching experience either working in schools or as a home-tutor. I have taught in secondary and middle schools.

I successfully home educated my own children at primary and secondary level including GCSEs and A-Levels and now help to home educate my grandchildren.

​I have an Open degree, majoring in Biological Sciences with the Open University and achieved Qualified Teacher Status at Secondary School level in 1997. I went on to complete my study of Educational Management at Masters level.

I enjoy teaching secondary school students and adults of all abilities, whether they are looking to excel or are struggling to keep up. My specialist subjects are Maths and Science, and I have also taught English Language to many students. I teach GCSEs and IGCSEs in line with AQA and Edexcel Exam Boards. I also teach Functional Skills at Levels 1 and 2 in Maths and English.

I create a calm and encouraging environment for learning. I am patient, understanding and explain things clearly. I make sure the foundational learning is in place before building upon it, giving students confidence. I celebrate the individuality of each student, focusing on their strengths and enabling them to gain the confidence to tackle their weaknesses in a secure and supportive environment.
